"Each moment you are alive is a precious gem." Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh

Enjoying life to me means living creatively, meeting our experiences with curiosity and openness, developing meaningful, loving relationships, doing good work, spending time in nature and connecting to community.
What can psychotherapy do for you?
The main impetus for people to enter into therapy is due to pain and suffering, usually from the loss of a loved one, or important work, or health. Often there is a lack of self-esteem or a drive to be perfect to please others. Depression and anxiety manifest as a response to these issues along with anger, fear, frustration, and grief. These dark emotions need to be honored and expressed in safe, healthy ways. Losses need to be grieved and witnessed in the sanctity of a personal space that honors the journey toward healing, giving both attention and time to the process.
Psychotherapy can also identify and support your strengths and capabilities. Through insight and understanding, you can increase your self awareness, self love, and self acceptance, which builds your capacity to manage and cope with the challenges that your inner and outer world present to you. Therapy can improve your mood and outlook and offer you a sense of aliveness and joy.
ARE ANY OF THESE YOUR ISSUES?
Anxiety, Depression, Grief and loss, Early childhood trauma, toxic parents, marital issues, sexuality, developmental issues – transitions, menopause and aging, job dissatisfaction, getting married or getting divorced, dealing with aging parents, family issues.
The list can go on, dissatisfaction is part of the nature of our lives, and at the same time there is so much to appreciate, be grateful for, and find joy in, both in our everyday lives and in our experience of the world. My practice is to meet and hold suffering with tenderness and compassion and also to find ways to increase your inner capacity for loving life on its terms. As Mary Oliver has said, "I want to say all my life I was a bride married to amazement. I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms." (From When Death Comes)
